MacConkey (MAC) Agar with Levofloxacin and Cefotaxime is a selective and differential medium used for the detection and isolation of Gram-negative enteric bacilli. Levofloxacin is an antibiotic used to inhibit the growth of Gram-positive organisms. Ampicillin is a ß-lactam antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell-wall synthesis by inactivating transpeptidases on the inner surface of the bacterial cell membrane.
